“Brilliant, even the 3 yr old plays it. We have had hours of fun and laughter with it already. Thoroughly recommended.”

“This is a cute little card game that is both fun and educational. The standard rules will help children with some basic mathematics and develop basic strategic/tactical thinking.”

“Excellent game can be used in a variety of ways, both my 3 year old and 6 year old grandchildren enjoy these cards at different levels of ability.”

“Fabulous, simple rules, loved by my 5 year old and suitable that my 2 year old can play along too.”

“We had a lot of family fun due to this game. We took it with us on holidays and all the cousins wanted to keep the game so we had to order a few more. So much better than "uno" or any other family card game as the children could interact with the funny animals and all made their own strategies.”

about jumbalup and Hillcrest Games

Hillcrest Games is a small company in Cornwall (UK) creating games for children and families.

We believe that we all learn and develop through play. Playing games is good for us, as well as being good fun. Games can be educational too - as well as creating funny fantastic creatures Jumbalup

  • encourages playing with words, sounds and syllables
  • develops observation and memory

When we play we learn about each other as much as anything else - all sitting on the floor or round a table, planning our next move, waiting for our turn, trying to hold in our excitement when we've spotted an unexpected opportunity .

Jumbalup is the first Hillcrest game but there are more on the way. So if you like cats, or are fascinated by dinosaurs and Neanderthals watch this space.

common questions

Can I pick up from the discard pile?

No, you can only pick up from the drawpile. If a head or tail you wanted is on the discard pile you'll have to wait for it to come round again when the drawpile runs out or start collecting a new animal instead.

When I play a dodo do I get to keep the completed animal?

No, both the dodo and and the complete animal are removed from the game, so you don't get to keep it and they don't go on the discard pile

Is there really such a thing as a rhinophant?

Well no one has every seen one in the wild but maybe, somewhere...

...although probably not.

What about a crocomingo?

We're pretty sure that's not possible, birds and reptiles don't mix.

A kangapus?

Definitely not.
